Turtle Point’s Treetop Trail

 

Boardwalk:

One of the highlights of visiting Turtle Point is a trip down the wooden boardwalk through the

wetlands to Big Escambia Creek. At one point, the boardwalk turns and rises an additional 15

feet in the air to take visitors into the forest canopy.  This arboreal walk gives nature lovers a birds-eye

view of an adjacent wetland pond.   Signage all along the boardwalk aids visitors

in plant and tree identification.

The Turtle Point property is home to five teaching gardens: the butterfly garden; the rock,

fossil, & mineral garden; the bog & water garden; the vegetable garden; and the herb garden.
