David Lainer

State Star FFA Advisor

David Lanier, Agriscience Instructor and FFA Advisor at W. S. Neal High School, was selected as most outstanding teacher in his field for the state of Alabama for the 2000-2001 school year.

The purpose of this award is to recognize excellence by an FFA advisor by showcasing those individuals who go the extra step in promoting the FFA and what the organization represents.

 Advisors were graded on the following categories: FFA activities for the past year, FFA activities for the previous years, overall teaching, program, and community involvement.

 The W. S. Neal High School Agriscience Program under his direction also received Business and Industry Certification during the 2000-2001 school year.

 Mr. Lanier will receive a trip to the Washington Leadership Conference held in Washington D. C., with airfare, conference fees, and cash to cover expenses. He will receive a recognition plaque, lunch at the Wall of Honor Banquet, and his name will be added to the State Star FFA Advisor plaque.
