Text Box: Meet the W. S. Neal Girl’s Basketball Team! 
Text Box: 	The W. S. Neal High School Band consists of students in grades 7-12.  This has been a very busy, yet productive year for the Blue Eagle Band.
	On Saturday, October 14th, the band competed in the “Southern Showcase of Bands” in Dothan, Alabama.  All areas of the band received Superior Ratings and the color guard and majorettes were awarded “Best in Class”.  Our drum major, April Jordan, was awarded a superior rating as well.  There were 13 other bands competing in our class including two bands from 6A schools.
	On Saturday, October 21st, the band competed in the Text Box: “Little Big Horn Marching Contest in Opp, Alabama.  The band as a whole received the “Best in Class” award with the highest numerical score in our class.  The drum major also received a superior rating.  Our drum line received a “Best in Class” award.  Mr. Sam Fredricks, a professor at Troy State University and a judge for the drum lines stated, “The drum line at W. S. Neal is one of the most musical and focused drum lines I have seen….”.  The color guard was also awarded “Best in Class” and received a score of 98, which was the highest score in the contest.  The majorettes were also awarded with “Best Text Box: in Class”.  The judge stated that their uniforms were beautiful and that they were the “...best majorette line she had seen all day.”.
	The band continues to perform at all the football games and will march in the Homecoming Parade and the Greater Brewton Area Christmas Parade  on December 9 at 2:00 p.m.  The W. S. Neal Band will be in concert Tuesday December 12th at 7:00 p.m.
	The band will compete at the District Festival in February and will be in the Parade at Disney World in April.
