Keep graded papers in case your teacher Text Box: 	It’s that time of year again!  That’s right, it’s homework time.  The best way to tackle homework is to set up a daily routine and maintain it. 
Here are some helpful tips to get you through this year.
Use your student planners to write Text Box: down daily assignments and due dates.
Find a place in which you feel comfortable enough to do your homework.  Avoid all distractions!
Have all your necessary supplies available for your use so you don’t waste Text Box: Healthy eating is great for all age groups!
	School cafeteria food meets state and federal nutritional guidelines.  However, many teens refuse to eat school cafeteria food.  Parents can encourage such teens to pack a healthy lunch from home.  **Parents can get useful information from  www.health.gov/dietaryguidelines.
Text Box: 	Parents are often worried about proper eating habits of teen-aged children.  Their worries are founded on the fact that teens are going through growth changes.  Due to increased physical development, teens often need increased nutritional requirements. Parents can help their teen by encouraging teens to be mindful of their eating habits. 
Text Box: 	Parents should keep in mind that teens are teens and they enjoy a certain amount of snacks.	 The goal is to get teens to reduce junk foods and to increase the intake of healthy foods.  Parents can help by finding snacks that are healthier and avoid bringing home unhealthy choices.
