The gifted program for the Gifted and Talented students in Escambia County Schools will focus on learning experiences and curricula that uses/develops higher-level thinking skills and effective questioning. The content instructional strategies will be appropriately differentiated to reflect the accelerated learning pace and advanced intellectual processes of gifted learners. Concept-based units covering different skills will be used to expose students to a variety of topics. Lessons will be taught that will help gifted students deal with social and emotional balance.
**This year 2020-2021 gifted classes will be taught virtually to both traditional and virtual students due to Covid-19. At this time, virtual instruction is the safest way to continue servicing students. During this time students will utilize Google Classroom, Khan Academy, Zoom meetings, and a variety of other platforms. This is a new experience for all of us and we will all learn together.
